Nope, no conspriracy, its just that Gate City's style generates them getting to the line.
The problem is there defensive style, should cause the other team to also get to the line more. A team that dares you to shoot outside shots, isn't going to normally foul as much. A team that attacks you, well naturally they're going to foul more, or should logically.

I'm not downing Gate City, they play great but if you're honest about it, you will know that their style should generate fouls. Its not called swarming because its precise [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
The thing is the refs know they play that way, they tend to let more go. If another team tries to play that way, they don't play that way, so its not as 'beaten into their heads'
Speaking of that style, if there isn't some concern about it, how much truth is their to the rumor about Gate City pushing for there to a vote on officials for the tournament, not just appointed.

im just saying that it was a great improvement from last time they played each other.
I haven't heard about that but I can say that no official should be picked to call a game that has their home team playing in it. As a matter of fact it really isn't right how the officials at games are picked to begin with.
I dont know if it matters much how the officials are picked to be honest...its like picking which poisonous mushroom looks best [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
I hate beating a dead horse, but there is a handful of consistent officials, if you manage to get 1 your lucky, 2 consider yourself blessed. I dont think I've ever seen 3 :P
Well for now theres pretty much one person who directs the officials and has a big hand in the games they call.
i dont think it is possible for the coaches to vote for the refs. maybe they can give them a choice of certain refs but for the coaches to vote out of all the refs is nearly impossible. you would have a rookie reffing the LPD championship game [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]. seeing as how all the other older refs are hated.
First of all before you call me out you need to read and understand my posts. I said it went both ways. I talked to a gentleman from Coeburn tonight and 3 or 4 today IN COEBURN that said the same exact thing. Both teams played their hearts out and there were 3 idiots that didn't know their arses from a hole in the ground. I gave Coeburn credit for playing their tails off, just as I did GC.
